Rachel Lyon (that’s me) started Lyon Publishing Services in 2003. I ran the business part-time, focusing mainly on indexing with a bit of proofreading on the side. In 2005, I began working as a copywriter, editor, and publications coordinator for a large company in Salt Lake City, Utah. During that time, Lyon Publishing Services continued to grow, and, in 2008, I began working my business full-time.

Since 2003, I have completed more than 1,000 indexing projects on topics ranging from LDS Church history and doctrine to America’s hot dog restaurants, Black lesbian feminism, the history of Christian colleges in China, glacier retreat in Peru, textbooks on philosophy and global health, Basque culture and literature, cooking, crafting, and the list continues.

I have had the privilege of working for esteemed publishers such as Cornell University Press, Deseret Book, Harvard University Press, Oxford University Press, and Hachette Book Group, among many others.

All projects are thorough, accurate, and delivered on time and on budget. Simply stated, I have the experience, tools, and knowledge necessary to create a high-quality index that will be a useful and usable reference for your readers.

I would love to work with you on your next project. Please contact me today for a project bid!
